About Peter
I’m a partner at George Murray Shipley Bell, LLP, and I have practised real estate, wills and estates, and business law since 2012. I work from offices in Sarnia and London, and I act for clients across Southwestern Ontario.
Background
I grew up in Southwestern Ontario. I studied political science at Western, earned my law degree at Dalhousie in Halifax, and came home to practise.
My practice covers three areas because clients’ lives do not divide neatly into one. A house sale is often part of an estate. A business owner’s will has to deal with the shares of a private corporation. A new business needs a lease, a shareholder agreement and, in time, a plan for succession. Working with one lawyer who sees the whole picture means those pieces are dealt with together.
I work with a team of law clerks, and from the first day you will know who is handling your file and how to reach them. I have put a good deal of work into how the practice runs, not only what it produces. Most documents can be signed by video and electronic signature, and if something must be signed in person, you will be told at the outset.

Outside the office
I live in Byron with my wife and our four children. Most weekends are spent at a hockey rink or on the sideline of the U12 soccer team I help coach, and when there is time left over, I am on the water sailing.
